The Brief
Having already created the brand identity for the client, the project involved building an e-commerce website for his products. The design itself needed to fit the corporate identity, but the overall requirement was ease of use, despite its complex functionality. The specifications also included a back-end simple administration where she could she prices, manage stocks and add and delete products.
The Solution
Being an adept to open source and having worked with Magento Commerce in the past, I pitched the design and the core functionality of Magento to the client and she agreed. Magento had plenty of modules already built-in with hundreds of extensions to choose from. I put together something dead-simple to use and work with, knowing that the client wasn?t tech-savvy. I worked around Magento and built a point-and-click system where products are added in a snap, stocks are managed as easy as pie and added a few bonus modules including IDEAL integration (the Netherlands version of Paypal), multi-language select for the frontend and product questions and reviews.
